Podcast
We can find a mountain of podcasts available on the web today. With those podcasts, many people often expect to listen to interviews or discussions. Therefore, it is useful to use podcasts as resources to realise other people's views as well as current issues being talked about. For example, BBC podcasts - Farming tells us about environmental analysis. This would be useful to give some ideas how environmental issues are related to farming in a subject like social study. The use of podcasts enhances students' learning engagement to collect necessary information.

Since your teaching areas are Japanese and legal study, you will have a lot of ways to utilize Podcast in your lesson. For example, in Japanese class you could use as listening practice, and in legal study class you could have students to learn legal situation by listening some contents on Podcast. Podcast is not only for entertainment but also learning, isn't it?

ReplyDeleteYes, your idea to utilise podcast sounds a great idea. It is a great source to use for listening comprehension. An image is very clear and obvious to tell what it is. On the other hand, podcast is an audio device without any pictures. Therefore, it can stimulate students' concentration on catching important information from the listening.
